MATTANUR HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL
A BRIEF HISTORY
In the second quarter of the twentieth century Mattanur had become famous as the headquarters of the Brahmin Landlord Brahmasri P.Madhuoodanan Thangal who was a mamber of the Madras Provincial Legislative council from the year 1929 to 1934and later a member of the Malabar district board.Mattanur was also noted for its active participation in 1940 in its protest against the imperialism and opression . Considering its importance and the large number of the school going children of the locality and the neighbourhood ,either the madras government or the Malabar district Board ought to have established a high school at Mattanur at least forties of the last century.

12 ഏക്കര്‍ ഭൂമിയിലാണ് വിദ്യാലയം സ്തിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഹൈസ്കൂള്‍ വിഭാഗത്തിന് 67 ക്ലാസ്സ് മുറികളും ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്‍ഡറി വിഭാഗത്തിന് 8ക്ലാസ്സ് മുറികളും ഉണ്ട്. യു.പി , ഹൈസ്കൂള്‍ , ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്‍ഡറി എന്നീ ഓരോ വിഭാഗത്തിനും പ്രത്യേകം കമ്പ്യട്ടര്‍ ലാബുകളുണ്ട്. കമ്പ്യട്ടര്‍ ലാബുകളില്‍ ബ്രോഡ് ബാന്‍ഡ് ഇന്‍റ്റര്‍നെറ്റ് സൌകര്യം ലഭ്യമാണ്. 100 പേര്‍ക്ക് ഇരിക്കാവുന്ന സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് ക്ലാസ്സ് റും വിദ്യാലയത്തിലുണ്ട്. അതിവിശാലമായ ഒരു കളി സ്ഥലവും മൂന്ന് വോളീബോള്‍ കോര്‍ട്ടുകളും വിദ്യാലയത്തിലുണ്ട്.
